If the app tells you to go buy a SmartStart device even though you already had it installed it means that you are not logged in. Open the app and navigate to more/settings/smartstart login. Make sure your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS is entered in the user ID field. Below that you will need to enter your password. If you are unsure of what your password is you can reset it in the app by clicking on "forgot password" on the same login page. Once you receive your new password simply clear out the existing one (represented by dots) and enter your new password. Then click "login".
